However, if you want unlimited library importing you will have to purchase one of the upgrades. There are other upgrades as well like the ability to you use headphones and additional effects packs. Upgrades range from $3 to $10 and are available for purchase in the app store.

Kazaa is a company most known for its role in peer-to-peer file sharing in the years past. However, with a push for new copyright laws and internet censorship to prevent illegal sharing, the company has been forced to rework most of its operations and services – I believe its older P2P software is even banned in some countries.

touchAble was developed by AppBc and it turns your iPad into a controller for Ableton Live. This is a really cool app for any DJ or producer with an iPad and Ableton. You can mix, edit, and manipulate your Ableton arrangements on the fly. It comes with built-in FX, velocity sensitive drum pads and keyboards, automapping, transport and clip functions and much more. Other great components to this app are its Wi-Fi capabilities – allowing you to use this app anywhere within the realm of a Wi-Fi signal. This means you don’t have to be glued to your computer and that you can take advantage of the iPads ability to be a mobile device- although there is some latency involved.

Pianist Pro is a virtual piano for the iPad. Its’ predecessor/counterpart – Pianist is a well known app for the iPhone and MooCow takes it even further with the iPad. It comes with 16 different instruments, an arpeggiator, a drum machine and on-board effects. Virtual instruments range from drums to synths and more. You also get a sustain pedal and velocity based key striking to give your creations some realism.

Drum Meister is a drumming application for the iPad. It comes from a top-down view and gives you an instant drum kit at your finger tips. You have four kits to choose from with extra add-on sounds available for each kit. You also have the ability to move individual drum sounds around and change the size of them to maximize playability. Much like Garageband (for iPad) the drums are velocity and positionally sensitive. This means that the sound corresponds to how hard you hit that drum and where exactly you hit that drum.
