Classical Guitar for iPad

Introducing Classical Guitar – a cool virtual guitar for the iPad. Not only is it an effective learning tool but it also makes playing a breeze.  By holding your iPad much like you would a guitar you can strum or pluck strings with one hand and trigger chords with another hand.  This app also has functions similar to that of Garageband’s Smart Guitars – when you’re dialed into a certain key it’s impossible to play a bad note.  A person with little musical ability can play a decent nylon string guitar with Classical Guitar.  It also supports left hand players – for those of you who are worried.  Did I mention the app is free?

Slynthy for iPad

Slynthy is a brand new app recently developed by Mitchell Cichoki for the iPad. It’s a monophonic synthesizer you play by sliding your finger.  It’s very basic in its features as there is only a few sounds, but nonetheless for $.99, the app does make some quirky noise.

Amplitube 2 for iPad

Released late last year by IK Multimedia this iPad music app has been gaining steam ever since.  Now bolstering even more features than its highly respected predecessor – Amplitube 2 – is more powerful than ever.

My first experience with Amplitube was several years ago when I purchased it as an audio processing plug-in for my DAW.  It was a good multi-effects processor for guitar then and is an even better one now. The simple the fact that I can have access to it on an iPad, which I can easily take anywhere, is super cool.

Apple Garageband for iPad

Garageband for the iPad is a fun, mobile, musical tool.  It doesn’t have the in-depth capabilities of a major desktop DAW, but is still very effective  and cool within its own realm.

It is perhaps the most fun and easiest to use.  A person with little if any musical talent could still have fun creating music with Apple’s Garageband for iPad and make some decent tunes too.
