iSequence for iPad
iSequence is a music workstation for you iPad. The program gives you 8 tracks to work with (but you can layer multiple sounds on 1 track), 160 virtual instruments, a mixer with effects and automation capabilities, a sampler, and a step sequencer – not bad for $14.99.
The first thing I like about the app is the intuitive layout and the smooth workflow. Navigating through the program becomes fairly easy in a matter of minutes. The sounds and effects are of okay quality for iPad standards and there are plenty to choose from.
I’m still waiting for that one iPad music app to really shine by incorporating some great sound libraries, but I’m sure that day is not far off.
iSequence does give you the abilitiy to export audio and MIDI Files, which means you are not confined to the limitations of the app. If you flesh out some good ideas in iSequence you can export the audio and/or MIDI files and expand on them in your desktop DAW – very useful!
Want more sounds and samples? Purchase them in the app store.
Aside from the fact that I would like to see some higher quality sounds, iSequence has a lot to offer any producer with an iPad. It’s a great, well rounded program that offers flexibility and ease of use. BeepStreet has a solid music production app for the iPad in iSequence.
Not too crazy about the music of the demo. Sounds cheap like a toy Casio. Wished the demo showed more for the functionality.
